Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Kaepernick and RGIII are among the quarterback options being considered as backup for Russell Wilson, reports ESPN.

As his team struggles, the 28-year-old Kaepernick appears as collected as any losing quarterback in the league. Undrafted free agent Trevone Boykin backed Wilson up last season and is now in line to do so again this year. It's been quiet on the Kaepernick front since then, with the exception of the QB's charity work.

"We're looking at everybody". Carroll stated that the team is looking to add some competition from the backup quarterback position and they are looking at all possibilities. After months of anonymous comments about what Kaepernick may or may not want, NFL Network's Mike Silver is reporting Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider reached out to Kaepernick's agent last Friday. "We've been tracking everything that's going on, and we've got cap and roster issues and stuff like that that we're still trying to manage properly".

"There was a year Matt Schaub had a pretty rough year and got signed the next year", Sherman said.

Kaepernick led San Francisco to Super Bowl XLVII, and to the NFC championship game the following season, where they lost to the Seahawks. Teams should be happy to have a leader like that, a guy who's dedicated to the people around him and he's dedicated to making their life better. Members of the team Michael Bennett and Doug Baldwin have been outspoken in their support of his protest against racial discrimination and social injustice by kneeling for the national anthem.

Yes, the Seahawks are set with Russell Wilson as their starter. Their No. 2 quarterback, Trevone Boykin, is inexperienced and has some ongoing legal issues, with similarly green Jake Heaps providing more depth.
