Subaru BRZ STI Teased Ahead Of Launch

Currently, the only other model in Subaru's range to wear the badge is the WRX STI - a high-performance four-door saloon.

Subaru has teased a high-performance "STI" version of its BRZ sports vehicle.

The BRZ STI though has been spotted testing and if the prototypes are anything to go by the new auto is expected to get a more aggressive body kit, beefier brakes and of course the big wing at the back.

Would a BRZ STI with a 300-hp turbo engine be wonderful? It is likely that the BRZ model will also feature the same wing as the one of the Type RA, and the suspension will probably be better at handling the track.

It's unclear whether this big-winged version will be something similar, though from the test mule's appearance there are no obvious upgrades that would hint at extra power, like a bonnet scoop to feed a turbo intercooler.

Luckily, we won't have to wait too very bad long to learn what the Type RA is all about, as Subie will debut it in full on June 8. The gearbox is created to be able to shift gears in 20 milliseconds.

Type RA cars are meant to be lighter and more hardcore than normal versions. Subaru had already reserved the track, so why not push the vehicle hard. In fact the weather was so bad that they could not even make an attempt at setting a wet lap record. In fact, Subaru holds a 7:55 time for a non-street-legal Subaru WRX STI from 2010. I'd be really disappointed if we don't see Gazoo Racing not only on our sports cars, but also on our core models.
