Cavs ignore last year's comeback after another 0-2 hole

Perhaps if the Cavs take Game 3 in Cleveland, he'll be more willing to stick around. I want this series to go to seven games, but I'll be surprised if it goes to six now as I have the Warriors getting the win and cover in Game 3.

Kevin Durant scored 33 points and Stephen Curry added 32 for the Warriors while LeBron James scored 29 points for the Cavs. "It motivates us to win for him", said Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson, who hit 22 points.

James was equally spectacular with his own triple-double of 29 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds, but yet again didn't get almost enough help to keep up with the Warriors' depth.

3-Point Goals-Cleveland 8-29 (Irving 2-6, Love 2-7, Derr.Williams 1-1, Jefferson 1-2, James 1-3, Korver 1-3, Frye 0-1, Dero.Williams 0-2, Smith 0-2, Shumpert 0-2), Golden State 18-43 (K.Thompson 4-7, Durant 4-8, Curry 4-11, Green 3-6, Clark 2-5, Iguodala 1-4, Barnes 0-1, West 0-1). It's not hyperbole that has folks comparing them to the best teams in National Basketball Association history and wondering what sort of dynasty this team could form moving forward with this talented, unselfish core able to be secured in place for years to come.

There is a sign posted on the wall inside the Golden State Warriors locker room, high above the corner stall belonging to Kevin Durant.

After winning the first two games by a total of 41 points, the Warriors are rolling, and Curry credited it to the "amazing" defense they are playing.

"That's what they do", James said.

"The biggest thing for us is our defense has been unbelievable", Curry said. He attended the pregame news conference Sunday and said he had not yet told his players that he would be back coaching, though said they knew in recent days that he was improving. "But heading to Cleveland, we're going to have to be a lot smarter".

"I thought for the most part with the game plan that we had we tried to execute it as close as possible", James said.

The key one came late in the third quarter after Cleveland cut the deficit to four points. The only other time the Cavs had 15 steals in a game was also at Golden State on June 5, 2016 during last year's title run.

The Cavaliers fell into the 0-2 deficit with a 132-113 loss to the Warriors in Game 2 of the 2017 NBA Finals, which was played in front of a capacity crowd of 19,596 raucous fans at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, Sunday night.

The Warriors have not exactly suffered without him, posting an unblemished 11-0 record under interim head coach Mike Brown during the playoffs.

Kerr said: "It's been a great run, but none of that matters unless we can finish the job with this series".

As the Warriors insisted their focus would not relent, the Cavaliers drew on their experience a year ago. "So we don't defend homecourt, what happens?" "We need to take that mentality to Cleveland". We've been here. The guys that were here previous year understand it's the hardest thing to do is to try to close out a series and we've got two more games to go.
