Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly close to sealing the signing of a €35 million (R505 million) target.

It is now claimed that the Portuguese tactician has begun mulling over the players who could replace Rooney as club captain, with a number of different players taking on the responsibility at different points last season.

Fabinho was linked with a switch to Old Trafford last summer but a move failed to materialise, although the Red Devils are thought to be interested in bringing the versatile midfielder to the club in the 2017 summer transfer window.

Reports at this stage are contradicting themselves with some suggesting United have agreed a €35m + €5m performance bonuses deal with Monaco, while others say a minimum of €45m is needed to lure the Brazilian away from Monaco. During a live television interview, the Brazilian global was asked if he would be keen to move to United if the opportunity arose.

"It's a tempting invitation", he stated.

Undergoing a medical and agreeing personal terms shouldn't be an issue for the 23-year-old so a deal could be wrapped-up soon and I think Fabinho would prove to be an excellent signing for United.

"But I would have to talk with my agent and Monaco to make the things right".

He thinks that the club also need to bring in new players, who will help the side and hopes they have the same affect as the transfers did this time previous year, leading United to three trophies.
