The Jammu and Kashmir Police today busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba module and arrested a man who has been identified as Sandeep Sharma alias Adil. Munir Khan while addressing the media after apprehending Sandeep Sharma also said, "that Lashkar was running criminal gangs involved in bank robberies and other criminal acts and has become hub for anti-social elements". Sonu introduced him to one Vakil Ahmad of Delhi who later took him to Jammu 30 months ago."According to Praveen, Sandeep had called him up only once in the past 18 months when he informed them that he had got a welding job in Jammu".

The arrest of Sandeep Sharma, who was used frequently by the Lashkar e-Taiba, points to the blurring lines between criminality and terrorism, IGP Munir Khan said.

Lashkari was killed in an encounter with the security forces in Anantnag on July 1.

The police official further said that Sandeep had come to the valley in 2012 and worked as a welder here in the summers.

Some new things as far militancy in Kashmir is concerned have come to the surface during investigations into the looting of banks and ATMs, he said.

Police said Sharma had earlier been arrested at PP Mir Bazar in a robbery case in March 2017.

While leaving Wanpoh with the help of his associates, Sharma met hardcore LeT militant Shakoor Ahmad Dar of Sonput. "He also concealed weapons looted from Police guards in a vehicle and shifted them to different locations on the directions of LeT", he said.
