It'll be on all platforms, and the mode will be in a free update for the third-person shooter later this fall. Barring unforeseen disaster, the full release of the new mode, called Ghost War, will follow sometime in the fall.

Just like every other open beta, the Ghost War open beta will also let anyone get a taste of the 4v4 PvP mode coming to the game without having to purchase the base game first. Starting in the near future, Ghost War will begin its open beta testing phase so players can gank at will! It's unclear what exactly will be included in the open beta, but the primary objective of it will be to balance the game mode ahead of launch. The maps are based on the environments in the main game, and are "large-scale" and open. Players will choose from a variety of specialized classes, including Scout, Sniper, and Tank among many others.

This PvP mode was designed from the ground up with the community in mind.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands devs are bringing a much asked-for feature into the game. While fans likely appreciate story DLC like Narco Road and Fallen Ghosts, Ghost War sounds like it is giving them a completely new game mode to master, and should add quite a bit of replay value to the game. "All of these elements will make team play, communication, and strategic skills more crucial than ever", Istrate said.

If you've been looking forward to PvP in Ghost Recon: Wildlands, you can look forward to trying it out later this summer.
