Chelsea are reportedly interested in sealing the transfer of Inter Milan wide-man Antonio Candreva as an alternative to the Manchester City-bound Danilo.

He looks set to miss out on Real Madrid's Danilo, with the Brazil global closing in on a £28m move to Premier League rivals Manchester City.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is known to be a long-term admirer of the talents of Candreva, with the winger's direct style of play and hammer of a right foot having impressed the Italian tactician during his spell in charge of Italy's national side.

However, after weeks of speculation over frustration building at Chelsea with Antonio Conte wanting to see more activity, it looks as though the Blues are really pushing ahead now as they look to add the final pieces.

The Sun claim that Inter would demand a fee in the region of £23M in exchange for Candreva.

Conte has previous experience working with the stalwart given their time together with Italy, and he knows the technical quality that he possesses along with the work ethic and versatility that could make him a crucial addition to the Chelsea squad.

Inter are apparently reluctant to sell Candreva with the club preferring to offload Ivan Perisic to Manchester United instead.

Chelsea have just signed Alvaro Morata to boost their options up front, so may now turn their attention to defence in the remaining weeks of the transfer window.

But the player himself is apparently now willing to move to west London after the Italian giants disappointed last season.
