Local co-op cooking game Overcooked: Special Edition is launching on Nintendo Switch 27th July, publisher Team17 has announced.

The Nintendo Switch version of Overcooked will cost $19.99 and includes The Lost Morsel and Festive Seasoning add-on content.

Overcooked first launched past year for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC and became a popular co-op game with charming graphics. Easy, surely? Not a chance.

Players assume the role of a chef, tasked with not only cooking the meals, but cleaning the kitchen, managing ingredients and serving. Some levels have your kitchen as parts of a moving truck that doesn't always stay together, or a kitchen on ice with ice physics that will have you falling off or praying you hit the right button at the right time. All of them are generally silly in some way.

Overcooked looks likes a game perfectly suited for the Nintendo Switch, so it's great that players can enjoy it on the system soon. The level variety is only beat by the games collection of unique playable characters, Overcooked features a diverse selection of characters, including the likes of a human, raccoon, dinosaur, French bulldog, robot and a deer. "You can even go head to head in nine versus competitive levels for either two or four players".
