Kathy shaved her head to support her sister, Joyce, who is now undergoing chemotherapy.

In a picture shared by journalist Yashar Ali, Kathy, now 56-years-old, can be seen rubbing her scalp after losing those famous red locks. In one of the photos, her mother Maggie Griffin sports a shocked face while touching the top of her daughter's head.

"My daughter Kathleen Mary is a wonderful human being", she tweeted.

Sadly, in 2014, Kathy's older brother Gary Griffin passed away from stage four esophageal cancer after more than two years of fighting the disease.

Entertainment news outlets report Griffin's sister, Joyce, has cancer, though the type of cancer has not been disclosed.

The My Life on the D-List personality has kept a low profile this summer amid the controversy that erupted in May when she posed in an artsy photo holding a severed head resembling Donald Trump. She was reportedly interviewed for more than an hour by the Secret Service.

Griffin has not tweeted or Instagrammed an image of her newly shorn look as of press time. Trump also responded to the photo on Twitter.

She apologized soon after, saying: "I'm a comic". The image is too disturbing; I understand how it offends people.

To recall, Griffin has been under fire for the past few months when she faced some issues against the US President, #Donald Trump.
