Antonio Conte is to ask Chelsea chiefs to launch a bid to sign £25m-rated Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater this summer, according to a report by TeamTalk.

Leicester City would (and should) hope that Chelsea aren't too serious about their pursuit of Danny Drinkwater, because if they are, then the lure of the Bridge would mean there's only one victor.

Oxlade-Chamberlain and Barkley, meanwhile, could be available for decent prices this summer due to both only having a year left on their contracts with their current clubs.

The ex-Manchester United youth product had apparently been eager on joining Chelsea a year ago, but was convinced to remain in the Midlands for another season by then boss Claudio Ranieri.

However Leicester are in no pressure to deal with because the England worldwide recently committed in a new four years contract.

Leicester are not keen on selling a key player so close to the start of the 2017/18 campaign though, and manager Craig Shakespeare would expect a sizeable fee to be offered before allowing Drinkwater to hold discussions with Chelsea's representatives.

The former Italy boss has also looked into the possibility of bringing in Bayern Munich " s Renato Sanches, but ambitious Serie A outfit AC Milan appear to be his preferred destination.

While Kante went on to win the Premier League title as well as the PFA Player of the Year award, Leicester City kept failing to replace the Frenchman all season, and it's still not sure if they'll find their lost man in new signing Vicente Iborra.
