"It's an honor to perform this for my dad and Chester and to sing for them", she said. The performance was a celebration of the lives of Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington, who both unexpectedly died earlier this year.

It's been almost three months since Soundgarden lead singer Chris Cornell died at the age of 52. The Soundgarden lead singer tragically took his own life in May, and the Linkin Park frontman followed in July, and music fans have been reeling from the devastation.

A giant mural has appeared in Sherman Oaks as a tribute to late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington.

Toni Cornell and OneRepublic performed "Hallelujah" on ABC's "Good Morning America", while OneRepublic also dedicated the performance of its new song, "Rich Love", to Bennington.

Prior to his death, Linkin Park had been booked to hit the stage in New York City's Central Park on Friday for US breakfast show Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series, but the tragedy prompted the Numb hitmakers to cancel all of their upcoming shows.

Bennington died July 20, apparently over the heartbreak of losing one of his closest friends. The 41-year-old had long struggled with drug and alcohol abuse and the trauma of abuse when he was a child. Back in 2006, he'd had a couple stints in rehab, and lived soberly since, but according to the piece he'd relapsed last August and been drinking as recently as October. "Even when it's good, I just am uncomfortable all the time".

Linkin Park is the first band to secure all three spots on the Top Rock Albums chart in a single week. The concert, held on Monday, launched the group's North American tour.
