Trump Goes After Graham and Flake on Twitter

Trump blasted Graham's comments as "a disgusting lie", adding that the "just can't forget his election trouncing".

"Publicity seeking Lindsey Graham falsely stated that I said there is moral equivalency between the KKK, neo-Nazis & white supremacists and people like Ms. Heyer", Trump tweeted Thursday morning, referencing Heather Heyer, who died in Charlottesville on Saturday. "He just can't forget his election trouncing.The people of SC will remember!"

Trump is scheduled to rally with supporters in Phoenix, Arizona next week. Lindsey Graham by name Thursday, slamming the SC senator as "publicity seeking".

Reuters points out something rather obvious, which is that his now constant attacks on Republican senators could come back to haunt him if he faces impeachment charges later.

Scarborough said that these attacks would hinder Trump's ability to get anything done with Congress because they would be seen as attacks against every Republican in the Senate. For the sake of our nation - as our President - please fix this.

David Holt, an Oklahoma state senator running for mayor of Oklahoma City, told The New York Times, "The last year and especially the last few days have basically erased 15 years of efforts by Republicans to diversify the party".

"I am not putting anybody on a moral plane", he said during Tuesday's chaotic press conference.

Flake refused to endorse Trump during the 2016 presidential elections and called on then-candidate Trump to drop out of the race in October after an audio recording of Trump claiming to "grab" women "by the p***y" was released to the public.

When Trump addressed the country on Sunday - his second statement on Charlottesville - condemning the KKK, neo-Nazis and white supremacists by name and stating that "racism is evil", Graham had initially responded with a simple tweet: "Well done Mr. President".
