Fans are no doubt hungry for any Star Wars promo material they can get with Force Friday II around the corner and only a teaser trailer for Last Jedi.

This Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer leaked a little early but it's now been officially released and showcases the new Starfighter Assault mode. A new trailer has just come out highlighting the space battles, and boy does it look unbelievable!

The above trailer, which does show off actual gameplay (but without the HUD) is so filled with nuggets and easter eggs you may need to watch it multiple times. It's better to keep that in mind while looking at the impressive-looking footage.

Then we head into prequel territory with some ARC-170 fighters, the predecessors to X-wings, face some droid fighters and a Lucrehulk Battleship above Ryloth.

Battlefront II's space battles are being made by Burnout developer Criterion. Other EA-owned studios DICE and Motive are also working on the game.

Star Wars Battlefront II releases on November 17 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Unlike the 2015 original, Battlefront II has a campaign, which Motive is developing. On Monday, Aug. 21, during the EA Live Show, Gamescom will be streaming the Starfighter Assault live gameplay reveal. As per the story goes in the trailer, you were on Endor when the second Death Star blew up and you must now rise from the ashes of the fallen Empire.
