"Prayers go out to Houston".

Hart said that people participate in a lot of internet challenges, both meaningful and meaningless, and he'd like to start a Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge by calling on his celebrity friends to donate $25,000 to the Red Cross for the storm's victims. "I'm going to lead the charge in stepping up in this way". He called on celebrities like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Beyonce, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Justin Timberlake, Dave Chappelle, Steve Harvey and Jay Z to follow in his footsteps and donate $25,000.

The deluge of support continued with country star Chris Young.

Young, meanwhile, states in a video on Twitter that he is donating $100,000 to the Red Cross as part of a GoFundMe page he helped set up for those hit by Hurricane Harvey.

"It's extremely hard to have to watch the events of Hurricane Harvey unfold on TV and not be able to get back to Houston to help with the recovery efforts".

Harvey made landfall Friday night as a Category 4 hurricane and has stalled over southeast Texas, causing widespread flooding as it continues to dump several feet of rain over the area.

At least six people have been killed by Hurricane Harvey. "We're praying for your safety in the days to come and stay with you as you rebuild, because we're all in this together", said Perry.

Also, during the MTV Video Music Awards Awards on Sunday, host Katy Perry touched upon the catastrophic event.

Despite his good intentions, Kevin was criticised for donating to the American Red Cross, with one follower telling him: "Don't donate to red cross or any other huge corporation". Another 20 inches were expected Monday before Tropical Storm Harvey travels farther east.
