JBL LINK Speakers Announced With Google Assistant Integration

The third speaker in the family isn't the Link 30, but the Link 300. All these speakers from JBL respond to Google's wake up phrase - OK Google and execute the functions that the Assistant is equipped of doing. As a part of the slew of launches before IFA, JBL also unveiled new smart speaker lineup "JBL LINK" with Google Assistant integration.

Not only does this mean that you get access to Alexa and all of the things she can do, but you can also control this speaker purely with your voice. After Panasonic, Mobvoi, Anker and Sony, Samsung-owned Harman has now introduced a number of JBL-branded smart speakers with built-in Google Assistant. Users can play their favorite song, find delicious recipes for dinner parties, or even check traffic before leaving the house. Multiple Link speakers can be connected together over Wi-Fi for multi-room streaming. The Chromecast like JBL speaker plays music from the most popular music and entertainment apps through a simple voice command.

"We're excited, to integrate with Amazon Alexa to deliver a handsome speaker with astounding audio coupled with all the intelligent features of Alexa", said Michael Mauser, President, Lifestyle Audio Division at HARMAN. The LINK speakers are highly portable with massive battery life's LINK 10 speaker lasts about 5, LINK 20 speaker battery backs for 10 hours.

Then for those who are after something a bit more robust, there is the LINK 300 which will be bigger and will offer up a more "powerful sound". The speakers are priced at 169 EUR, 199 EUR, and 299 EUR respectively and will be released in the UK, Germany, and France this fall, but no word on a stateside release just yet.
