The launching of Apple's iPhone 8 smartphone may be just around the corner, and its details and specs are all practically out in the open. The Journal appears to be the first news outlet to report that a fingerprint scanner won't be included.

"We also think Apple will keep its iPhone SE and iPhone 6 in circulation, albeit on the down low", he said.

That decision, combined with an unsuccessful attempt to include Touch ID in the new display, has put production a month behind schedule, according to the paper.

Moreover, Telegraph reported that it will also showcase a 3D sensor to be used for facial recognition to allow users to unlock the phone by looking at the screen.

New iPhones typically go on sale within two weeks of Apple's launch events. Sometimes it's confined to new colors, and sometimes it just means constraints during the first launch weeks.

After months of speculation and conflicting rumors, Apple next week will finally take the wraps off of its highly anticipated iPhone 8.

Additionally reports also indicate that Apple's flagship smartphone will be known as iPhone X. The smartphone will be released during the tenth anniversary of the iPhone.

It will be announced at an event on September 12. The design will be something that we have never seen in any other iPhone so far, or so suggest rumours.

The device will also have wireless charging capabilities which are said to be faster than those now available.

Rivals such as Samsung already offer wireless charging - with phones topping up simply by being placed on a compatible charging pad.

Word is, Apple is "in urgent need of finding a second source of OLED", following reports that the only company in the world capable of making OLED to the standard it requires, Samsung Display, is pushing their prices up. This was followed three days later by a tweet from technology reporter Benjamin Geskin stating: "Telecom company in the United Kingdom, been told by superiors that they are opening early on 22/09/2017 for iPhone day". It's expected to start at $649 for the standard size and $769 for the larger-screen iPhone 7S Plus with the same storage options and colors. It's arguably the most exciting (rumored) iPhone in years.
