To take his place, they have signed Giorgio Tavecchio from the practice squad.

The Tennessee Titans kick returner showed off his impressive speed and moves on a return after the Raiders went up 23-13 in the season opener, but it was a jump on the play that got everyone in the stands (and watching on television at home) off of their feet nearly as high as he got.

The Oakland Raiders have placed kicker Sebastian Janikowski on injured reserve, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Janikowski is the franchise's career leader in games played with 268 and points with 1,799. The Raiders expect Janikowski to be cleared and eligible to return to the team in eight weeks.

However, as long as he keeps drilling field goals of more than 50 yards, Raider Nation is OK with the Milan, Italy native filling in for the Polish Cannon.

The team also reportedly renegotiated Janikowski's contract, cutting his salary from $4 million to $3 million. He made three of four field goals and five of six extra points in the exhibition season this year.
