Gurmeet Ram Rahim's close aide Dilawar Insan, five policemen arrested

Days after the conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in two 15-year-old rape cases, a Sadhvi who spent thirty years in the Dera, made a series of shocking revelations to India TV that exposed the ugly face of the Dera chief.

By interrogating Dilawar, Haryana Police hopes to gather vital leads about the sect's key functionaries, including Honeypreet Insaan, the adopted daughter of Gurmeet Ram Rahim. Panchkula Police Commissioner A S Chawla said that they are likely to be arrested soon.

Sirsa-based journalist Chhatrapati was shot at in October 2002 after the evening newspaper "Poora Sach", owned by him, published an anonymous letter narrating how women were allegedly being sexually exploited by the sect head at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa.

Dilawar has been charged with inciting violence that broke out after the rape conviction of the Dera chief, killing at least 40, the police added. They have been booked under the relevant sections of the IPC, including the sedition charge, said Singh.

Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by the CBI court on August 28.

His questioning could also throw light on the planning of the incidents of violence and arson in Panckula and Sirsa which had left 41 people dead and scores of others injured, the police said. Police officials here said that rapist Ram Rahim will not be physically produced in the CBI special court on Saturday.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Dilwar Insan, a close of Ram Rahim, was arrested in Sonepat by the local police headed by SSP Satender Kumar Gupta.
