NBC5 Forecast: Summer Weather Holding Strong into the Weekend

Friday afternoon is looking mostly dry with highs again in the upper 80s.

Mostly sunny skies and a high around 75 are forecast for Sunday in the Omaha area.

Another hot and windy one is on tap today in the Omaha area before a cold front moves in Saturday, bringing cooler conditions and a chance of rain into next week. Partly cloudy, with a low about 62. Many locations will see overnight lows in the upper-20s to mid-30s. A low end rain chance will exist each day Monday through Wednesday, around 20% each day. South winds are at 5-10 miles per hour. with highs at 90 and lows at 79.

The potential on Sunday is limited to showers and thunderstorms in northeast Oklahoma, according to the National Weather Service in Tulsa. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. High: 93. Wind: S 10-15 miles per hour.

MONDAY: Partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures continue, with a high of 84 degrees. East Southeast winds will stay within the 5-10 miles per hour range with highs at 87 and lows at 79. Highs will be in the low 80s.

Saturday- Partly sunny skies with a heat index of 101* and East Southeast winds of 5-10 miles per hour. Winds may increase to 12 to 17 miles per hour in the afternoon, gusting as high as 29 miles per hour. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.
