Now local authorities say police in IN suspect the registered sex offender may be connected to the murders of two middle school friends in Delphi earlier this year. They are now investigating a possible connection between the man, 31-year-old Daniel Nations, and the deaths of 14-year-old Liberty German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams.

Wednesday night, ISP said they were looking into Nations' case and said they've received thousands of photos of people who may look like the Delphi suspect sketch.

Indiana State Police say they haven't "definitively" connected Nations to the murders but are continuing the investigation. A day later, their bodies turned up with only two pieces of evidence - a cellphone image of the man believed to have killed them and a video recording of his voice saying, "down the hill".

Police in El Paso County, Colorado, say Daniel Nations, a registered sex offender, was arrested Monday afternoon.

Daniel was booked into the Teller County Jail on a charge of weapons possession by a previous offender. His last known address is less than 100 miles from Delphi, Indiana.

Investigators reportedly found a gun of the same caliber used to kill Watkins and a hatchet in Nations' vehicle.

"We're not that kind of people", Nations told the officers, according to the affidavit.

On Thursday, ISP called Nations a "person of interest" in the murders of Abby Williams and Libby German, but did not elaborate further. Each and every one of these tips are investigated for any potential connection to our case. "If that should change-with this tip, or any other tip-rest assured we would be sharing such news with all media sources". The suspect was described by state police as about 5 feet 8 and between 180 and 220 pounds, with reddish-brown hair. Other charges are pending. It's unclear if Nations is a suspect in the death, which has been ruled a homicide. He's being held on a $10,000 bond and his next court appearance is scheduled for mid-October.

Kirby said the vehicle he was driving in Woodland Park matched the one described by people who had reported a man menacing them in the Mount Herman Road area and the town of Monument in El Paso County during the weekend of September 15 and 16.
