The Congolese almost ruined Egypt's World Cup hopes, after Boukah Moulou cancelled Mohammed Salah's 64th minute goal in the 87th minute.

A defensive blunder allowed constant menace Salah to fire past goalkeeper Barel Mouko on 63 minutes at the 85 000-capacity Borg El Arab Stadium.

Mohamed Salah was the Egyptian hero, scoring both goals, in a win that takes them to the tournament for the first time since 1990.

The game ended 2-1 in favour of the North Africans.
