Rock hits Australian cricket team's bus

The Australia cricket team suffered a scare following their Twenty20 worldwide win over India in Guwahati on Tuesday after a rock was thrown at their team bus, shattering one of the windows, governing body Cricket Australia (CA) said. There was not a single unsavory incident inside the stadium during the match that was a smooth affair. They are being quizzed. India are leading the series 1-0.

Several former and current Indian players have expressed their disappointment about the incident, including Ashwin Ravichandran and Rohit Sharma.

The rock left a large hole in a window towards the back of the bus. a website that specifically covers everything that happens in the North Eastern part of the country reported that the Commissioner of Police, Guwahati said that stones that hit the window might have slipped from the tyres of the bus.

Australia's team bus was also struck by a rock in Bangladesh five weeks ago as it travelled back to a hotel following the first day's play of the second and final Test against the home side in Chittagong. While the stand-in skipper David Warner retweeted the post, middle-order batsman Glenn Maxwell liked it.

"While no one was injured, the Australian players were understandably shaken up by the incident".

According to a statement issued by the chief minister, Khanna termed the security and facilities provided to teams in Guwahati as immaculate and said these had set the benchmark for other events of such stature that India might host in the future. The DGP said everything would become clear after the investigation is over.
