Mané has been sidelined for four weeks with a hamstring injury suffered during the last global week and had not been scheduled to return for Liverpool for another fortnight.

"He looks like he's ready for 20-25 minutes but we have to wait and see how his body reacts from Thursday's session".

Many thought he would be back after the worldwide break, particularly given past comments made by Klopp.

With yet another round of global fixtures just over the horizon, Liverpool will travel to West Ham United on Saturday with both clubs not only staring down a bit of an injury crisis, but looking for a much needed boost in the standings before the break.

Although Mane was injured while with Senegal, Klopp is happy for him to link-up with his country for their two World Cup qualifiers against South Africa.

"We can not sit here, ignore the situation of Senegal and say, "we don't care if they play at the World Cup". It is not right and not nice.

He explained: "We can not ignore the situation of Senegal and say we don't care if they play in the World Cup".

"They have shown what they are capable of on their day, and that's what we've got to prepare for".

"That would be the ideal situation but we can not decide it".

"If Sadio can play I really think he should because it is good to get some rhythm, otherwise he would not have played for how many weeks". Just three teams have a worse record than them and they have conceded 19 goals in just ten games with keeper Joe Hart copping post of the flack. There are clear rules and we respect them. "Training is different and that is where I would love to have more influence in the future".
