Taking inspiration from Razer's range of gaming laptops, the Razer Phone is crafted from matt black aluminium, giving it the appearance of a stealth jet. Specs-aside, probably the most intriguing software quirk or even "easter egg" of the device is the fact that Razer has not wasted resources on developing its own custom Android launcher from scratch, but has taken much more efficient approach. Its 5.7-inch display is an LCD panel designed by Japanese firm Sharp and has a 120Hz screen refresh rate, up from the industry standard of 60Hz.

Called the Razer Phone, the device features two phone firsts, according to the company. "We spent an insane amount of money", said Mr Tan. We've gone over some of the details on this device in brief already - like when and how you'll be able to get one.

Pre-orders are now live for the Razer Phone through Razer's official website, Three (in Europe), Amazon and select Microsoft stores in the U.S. and will launch on November 17.

But if you don't want to eat through that big phone battery by playing games at insane speeds, Razer has brought over another big feature from PC gaming: Choice.

He continued: "We have wanted to make a phone with gaming-level tech for years, and the Razer Phone delivers in every way we imagined".

Gamers, in particular, covet higher refresh rates (and the accompanying frame rate) because it means they see more of the game and are less likely to miss a key punch or flying laser beam. Although, it might not have the best looks that we are used to seeing in the high-end device segment.

The phone has dual front-facing speakers.

The phone is created to run on Android games on Google Play store. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 2TB via microSD card.

The Razer Phone is a stout, wide phone that feels radically different in my hands, which have grown accustomed to the longer, skinnier 2:1 screen aspect ratio that's trendy in flagships this year.

We'll know just how important gaming is to phone owners sometime after the Razer Phone starts shipping internationally November 17th. An update to Android 8.0 Oreo is expected to be rolled out in the first quarter of 2018.
