A drunk woman got to know that her husband was cheating on her mid-flight and created such a ruckus that the flight had to divert and land in Chennai on Sunday.

The woman reportedly started hitting her husband repeatedly following the discovery.

Travelling with her dodgy hubby and their child, the Iranian woman supposedly went full Mission Impossible and waited for the dude to fall asleep, before using his finger to unlock his phone via its sensor.

The crew could not pacify the woman so the plane had to divert. However, the twist in the tale is that they were on a plane at the time, on their way to a holiday.

The trio later boarded another flight to Kuala Lumpur and returned to Doha - unsurprisingly, the family didn't continue their trip to Bali.

The woman's beat-down was so epic that the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing at Chennai Airport.

"On November 5, at about 10 am, Qatar Airways flight QR-962 (Doha-Bali) was diverted to Chennai".

Chennai: A spat between an Iranian couple mid-air forced a Bali-bound worldwide flight to make an unscheduled landing here recently, airport officials said. After the family was removed, the flight resumed its course to Bali.

It is understood the family were kept in a detention centre as they did not have Indian visas.

The crew attempted to calm her afterwards.

"In respect of passenger privacy, we do not comment on individual cases", Qatar Airways said in its official statement. "They were taken to a room maintained by immigration authorities at Chennai airport", said a source.
