Following the announcement of the previous ceasefire agreement in southern Syria brokered by the United States and Russia, Netanyahu came out against the deal, saying it did not sufficiently address Iran's military ambitions in the area.

The concept behind temporary division is that these forces would cease fire and later negotiate a final solution. All of these facts point to near-future arrangements that aim to impose facts on the ground regardless of the worldwide agreement expected later on. But he stressed that Israel is not a party to the agreement and will defend its interests. Israel has been closely watching Iran's involvement in the war in neighboring Syria.

Yet, even if major forces agree upon suspending fights, we should be anxious about the new stage indicators of regional confrontations inside and outside Syria.

Israeli Cabinet Minister Tzachi Hanegbi said Sunday that the agreement "does not answer Israel's unequivocal demands that there will be no developments that bring Iranian or Hezbollah forces closer to Israel's border with Syria in the north". Photos show how the Revolutionary Guards built a series of military bases to be centers of support and financing that will operate as an Iranian highway that extends from Iraq to Lebanon. That is why the new Israeli threats are against Hezbollah in both Lebanon and Syria. Moreover, previous Israeli wars against Hezbollah used to be based on the accumulation of weapons at Hezbollah's disposal as well as its deployment, and they used to happen once every 10 years. Of course, the reason is clear, which is that the Syrian regime does not have enough military capabilities due to its losses.

Israel, Turkey and Iraq are countries which have borders with Syria and are thus directly concerned in the details of the solution - such as which local and foreign militias control the situation on the ground. Jordan also faces the danger of the Iranian march toward its borders with the city of Daraa, had it not been for the American warnings.

The reports on the new ceasefire agreement came after the BBC published satellite photos on Friday said to show the construction of a permanent Iranian military base in Syria.

While Russian support has kept Assad in power, helping Putin expand Russian clout across the region, the seeking to have influence in any plan to help the nation recover from years of civil war.

This is the reality, which I don't know how the agreement to end war in Syria will handle.

Takfiri groups such as ISIS and al-Nusra have never attacked Israel despite operating close to Syria's borders with the occupied Palestinian territories over the past couple of years. He has also served as the editor of Asharq al-Awsat's sister publication, al-Majalla.
