The Nokia 9 and Nokia 6 recently received 3C certifications, indicating that we could see a January 2018 release for both phones. Even though the TENAA listing doesn't reveal anything about the upcoming handset, according to a report by NokiaPowerUser, this will be the Nokia 6 (2018).

Nokia has an event lined up for January 19, and it's suspected it may launch the Nokia 9, as well as one or more Nokia 2018 re-boots - the Nokia 8 (2018) has been tipped for this previously.

Other rumored specifications on the handset include 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, the device will apparently feature a rear fingerprint sensor and could possibly come with dual cameras.

So far, most of the leaked details suggest that all the new models will be rocking the ever trendy 18:9 aspect ratio display panels. The puny Snapdragon 430 SoC which powers the current Nokia 6 could be replaced by the Snapdragon 630 or 660.

As you can see in the images, the design of the smartphone remains the same as the original Nokia 6, but the front will be slightly changed due to the 18:9 display which covers the major portion of the front. Although this was a good phone, its hardware felt dated and this is something that the Nokia 6 (2018) edition will likley fix. As yet there are no details on the exact megapixels the cameras will come with. Today, we have images of the upcoming smartphone too. The Nokia 9 appears to have passed through the organization's certification process as well, with a number of TA-1042. It does looks like a NOKIA 5, 6 and 7 mashed up together. The smartphone is expected to launch as early as next month. On the camera front, the smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies. The current gen Nokia 6 also has 32GB of internal storage similar to the Nokia 6 (2018).

In terms of design and aesthetics, the device looks fresh but still retails few elements from the first generation Nokia Android smartphones.
