Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning drivers that Christmas travel may be hard due to another snowfall coming to Halton.

Visibility may be limited and travel may become hard.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected for morning, with cloud cover coming in around noon Sunday. Somewhat heavier snow is likely in some areas, especially in the Greater Toronto Area where a snowfall warning is in effect.

It'll be a white Christmas for many in Eastern Canada, as a Texan low-pressure system intensifies and races northward "at the speed of Rudolph", according to a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada. "Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions".

"At present, snow is expected to develop across Vancouver Island during the day on Sunday and spread to the mainland coast by the evening", the statement said. There was a 40 percent chance of flurries during Christmas day.

A pacific frontal system moving onto Vancouver Island today has combined with cold arctic air along the B.C. coast, which is creating the snowfall conditions. At least 2-4 cm of snow is expected to accumulate before Christmas Day. Snow is expected to begin in the late afternoon Christmas Eve, and continue overnight.

The Confederation Bridge has also issued a wind warning advisory.
