Cavs' Isaiah Thomas Will Make Debut Against Portland

I haven't played in so long so it's going to be a weird feeling tomorrow but I'm happy.

The slow grind is finally over.Isaiah Thomas, who has been rehabbing a significant hip injury for months, his attitude getting worse as he got closer to his season debut, was smiling once again when discussing the lengthy process to medical clearance. That's because according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Thomas will be making his season debut tomorrow night against the Portland Trail Blazers.

This will be Thomas' first game as a member of the Cavaliers.

Lue is reportedly keeping Thomas on a minutes restriction, considering his lengthy time away from play and the need to steadily recover.

"My hip is better but I have no rhythm". Of course, this won't be the case over the course of the season as Thomas will eventually make his way into the starting lineup.

Thomas, 28, played with the Celtics from 2015-2017, when he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in August.

However, the Cavaliers have to be careful now and make sure that he doesn't suffer another injury.

"I play a lot of NBA 2K", "It's the most realistic basketball game you could ever play". Though he has said he would "love" to play against the Celtics, dropping him into such an emotional environment with seven months of rust would be a hard ask.

Cleveland plays Boston on Wednesday, meaning the two-time All-Star could play against his former team depending on how the game against Portland goes. The Cavaliers have 14 games in January, and only three of them will be on the second night of a back-to-back.
