Israeli authorities cleared for publication on Monday the news that members of a terrorist cell in Judea and Samaria who worked to advance attacks on behalf of a Gaza-based Hamas terrorist were arrested in November 2017 during a joint Israel Security Agency (ISA/Shin Bet), Israel Police and IDF operation. Security forces are arriving at the area to discard of the remains.

ISA said that according to the investigation, Abdallah Arar, a Hamas operative, was behind the cell.

GAZA CITY, Palestinian Territories (AFP) - A Gazan died yesterday after being wounded by Israeli fire during a protest on the border over USA recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, a Palestinian health official said.

Arar is suspected of ordering Ala Salim, a resident of Jabba in the Benyamin region, to establish a terror cell and acquire an M16 assault rifle for the objective of carrying out terror attacks.

According to Shin Bet, Arar had instructed Alaa Salim to set up the cell.

Salim then approached another resident of Jab'a, Rian Tuam, and asked him to help purchase an M16 rifle, giving him thousands of shekels to do so. Shehadeh Touam, in turn, contacted Mahmoud Abu Arkov, a young Hamas activist from A-Ram and recruited him to the cell. Still, the government and the IDF hold Hamas responsible for all terror activities in the coastal strip.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shot back at critics who said his government has failed to take action to stop rocket fire from Gaza on southern Israel.

Speaking to lawmakers during a Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee meeting, Argaman warned, "The [period of] quiet we are experiencing is misleading; Hamas is hard at work trying to execute terrorist attacks".
