2018 marks the third win in a row for Honda.

Automotive journalists crowned the Honda Accord the North American Car of the Year on Monday, a first for the longtime model that's twice flirted for the top honor as a finalist. Eligible vehicles must be new or substantially changed. The Accord won out thanks to sleek new styling and a roomy, well-appointed interior. "The ride is exemplary, and when smartly equipped, it is a fine value". Competitors in this class included members of the Lincoln's own extended family in the form of the Ford Expedition and Chevrolet's excellent off-roader, the Colorado ZR2. "With its design more aligned with the Continental, the Navigator becomes an even more important image - and the profit-maker for Lincoln".

The winners were selected from a group of 29 vehicles, including 11 cars and 15 utilities.
