This may be the one time you can get away with calling Reba McEntire a "chick". Amazement? Confusion? A sudden desire to listen to great country albums, if not a sudden craving for fast food?

KFC has chosen singer Reba McEntire to play next Colonel Sanders, the singer will play the founder of the fried chicken chain. The Queen of Country will be featured in commercials that will air starting January 28.

"Since then, Norm Macdonald, Jim Gaffigan, Rob Lowe, Ray Liotta, and more have assumed Sanders's identity in what has proved to be a savvy marketing move for KFC".

McEntire will star in a few ads between now and April. "I'm definitely not a woman".

Reba McEntire is set to be KFC's first female Colonel Sanders, the company announced Thursday.

Reba McEntire is the first female celebrity to don the white wig and white suit as KFC's Colonel Harland Sanders.

Country superstar Reba McEntire has added a new role to her extensive resume. She's also "eaten KFC my whole life" because it's "American" and, in her mind at least, "wholesome". She tosses her white cowboy hat out into the revelers, revealing a quick cut of the "real" McEntire, who catches the hat on her head. "Just the same old Colonel with a new flavor of fried chicken", features The Grammy-winning singer crooning over smoky BBQ chicken in a Western styled saloon.

KFC's new Smokey Mountain BBQ offers blends of two of America's favorite things: fried chicken and BBQ sauce. 'I think this is going to be our most-loved Colonel yet, ' Zahumensky said.
