MWC 2018 is going to be an extravaganza event for tech lovers as companies like Samsung, Nokia, Xiaomi, Sony, and Honor will unveil their new generation smartphones. Asus, however, has not revealed the names of any of the smartphones that will be showcased at the MWC event.

The MWC 2018 keynote by Asus is scheduled to place at 7:30 PM CET on February 27 (12 AM IST, February 28). As you can see, it contains a text that reads #BACKTO5.

Asus had said in September last year that we could expect its ZenFone 5 series to be launched in the first quarter of the new year. This means, the smartphones will be camera-focused. ZenFone 5 Lite is likely to feature a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio, while detail regarding ZenFone 5 Max's screen is not confirmed.

Furthermore, the invite features a "We Love Photo" tag that was originally used during the launch of the Zenfone 4 range of phones a year ago and sports Qualcomm Snapdragon's logo.

Given that Qualcomm's logo is present in the invite, we're pretty confident that most (if not all) Zenfone 5 series smartphones will use Snapdragon mobile platforms.

Nothing significant about Asus ZenFone 5 Lite has been leaked, but Mobiltelefon (in Russian) has reported that it has been certified in Russia, giving a hint that its release date may not be far off. The phone packs with dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac support and runs on Android 8.0 Out of the box. According to the poster, phones should arrive with Snapdragon chipsets.
