Chelsea to stick with Antonio Conte

The defending league champions sit in fourth place in the standings, 18 points behind Pep Guardiola's City, with reports suggesting that Conte's relationship with owner Roman Abramovich is strained due to the Italian's thinly-veiled criticism of the club's transfer strategy.

The Blues were humbled by Bournemouth in midweek, and knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Arsenal, and are in danger of slipping outside the top four ahead of a very testing Champions League tie against Barcelona.

Conte signed an improved two-year deal with Chelsea last summer and insists he remains committed to the club.

"There have been these type of rumours since the first game of the season against Burnley".

"The names are those already heard, like Mancini who shared matches with me on the national team and also military service".

"I have always been proud to play for my country and the burning ambition to continue to do that has never left me".

The fact that Conte does not have control over the recruitment of players at his club will be one of the primary reasons which may cause Conte and Chelsea to go separate ways. In Italy, I think the speculation today is that Costacurta wants to come here and speak about the national team. "Maybe I'd like the club to prepare a statement for me, no?"

"I can tell [you] that Costacurta is a friend", Conte, according to the Telegraph, told reporters at his press conference this week. But I repeat, I don't like to try to push with the press for a new contract.

"Mancini was in Rome but we didn't contact him, Conte seems eager to wear Azzurro again, Ancelotti opens and closes the door and Ranieri isn't out either".

"For sure, you have to change your plan, your work". To do this, you must have 15 or 16 players.

"As you can see, we are working a lot with people like [Ethan] Ampadu, 17, and [Callum] Hudson-Odoi, 17".

Don Balon claim that the first player Enrique would like to draft in, should he take the reins at the Bridge in the summer, is Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus.

"I spoke to [France manager] Didier Deschamps about my situation".
