To make the offer a tad bit sweeter, a promotion is taking place that will net you a free $150 gift card to whichever retailer you pre-order the device through. Powered by Ai to "Learn" from our data cache of portrait images, the Huawei mate 10 Pro can differentiate between 13 different subjects like people, pets, food, Flowers, landscape, etc.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is not launching with a carrier in the United States, but that may be a good thing as customers end up with a device free of USA carrier bloatware and restrictions on timely software updates. But with the Mate 10 Pro, a crop of major USA retailers - Microsoft, Best Buy, Newegg, B&H, and Amazon - will all sell the phone. The current retailer line-up includes Amazon, B&H, Newegg and Best Buy.

The Mate 10 Pro starts shipping February 18. The device will start shipping on February 18, so to get that gift card you will need to pull the trigger on or before February 17.

Folks in the United States may finally preorder the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, the Chinese company's flagship phone. Supply of this model is scarce in China, where consumers must pay 1,000 yuan or more on top of its 8,999 yuan list price.

The Mate 10 Pro's US$799.99 price tag makes it 20 per cent cheaper to buy in the USA than either in Europe, where it costs €799 (US$995), or in China, where it sells for 5,399 yuan (US$856). A Kirin 970 CPU powers the new smartphone, has a 4,000mAh battery. Otherwise, all the specifications are same as the regular Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

Huawei has partnered with Leica again this year for its dual camera setup. The Huawei Mate 10 is IP53 certified for dust and splash protection, while the Mate 10 Pro sports a more useful IP67 certification for water and dust resistance.

Initially the Mate 10 Pro will be available in Midnight Blue and Titanium Grey, but Huawei says Mocha Brown will also be an available option in the near future.

If you are considering picking up the unlocked Mate 10 Pro ahead of its February 18 release date, Huawei is willing to sweeten the pot in the form of a $150 gift card.
