"I want Gavin Free to die alone, with no children", said one note.

Austin police received a call on January 26 from a woman who said she and her boyfriend were awakened by a gunshot and the sound of breaking glass, then heard someone enter their back door and walk around.

But part of that investigation includes assistance from homicide detectives with the Albuquerque Police Department who served a search warrant on Giles' Northwest Albuquerque apartment a couple of days after the shooting.

The Albuquerque Journal reported a warrant searching Giles' mobile phone and other electronics, which was filed with a New Mexico state court last week, returned more than a thousand notes about the YouTube couple.

Police found a huge amount of evidence related to Giles's resentment towards Free.

A "disturbed fan" armed with a gun entered the home of a celebrity YouTube couple before firing at least one shot, police said. They hid in their bedroom closet and called 911 while Giles searched their home for them.

Free and Turney are most famous for their roles at Rooster Teeth productions, where they've worked on various different shows over the last decade.

Following the incident, both Turney and Free took to Twitter to thank Ausitn Police. Giles fired a single shot from his vehicle while backing out of the driveway.

The Travis County Medical Examiner's Office's preliminary findings suggest that the fatal gunshot sustained by Giles may have been self-inflicted.

Turney and Free amassed internet fame through their YouTube videos.

Police said the 23-year-old Giles was described as "single, lonely and disturbed". According to the police, it was these videos that led a man from Albuquerque, NM to resent Free and subsequently drive to Austin to confront the couple.

Ms Turney added: "Thank y'all so, so much for each and every kind message today and a special thank you to the Austin Police for their quick response that night and their ongoing support during this hard time".

"Thank y'all so, so much for each and every kind message today and a special thank you to the @Austin_Police for their quick response that night and their ongoing support during this hard time".

"I just wanted to say thanks for all the support and concern regarding the recent indecent", Gavin tweeted.
