In a freaky incident that occurred at a train station in Dongguan, southern China's Guangdong Province, on February 11, a woman climbed inside an X-ray machine as she was scared that her bag could get stolen during the mad rush.

According to South China Morning Post, the incident happened about 6 pm on Sunday at Dongguan railway station in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong.

After placing her purse on the machine, she chose to climb on herself.

Officers were rendered speechless and didn't even recover in time to question woman's outrageous attempt to accompany her handbag.

Many Chinese migrant workers carry their annual earnings home to family in cash during the Lunar New Year holiday, the busiest travel period of the year.

Security staff told her that this bag would also have to be checked and she reluctantly circled back to the airport-style luggage scanner.

A video shows the woman emerging from the machine and climbing off the belt.

It was thought that the woman did not want to leave her handbag and its valuable contents, so she made a decision to climb up the machine.

While the story has given locals a laugh, Dongguan Railway Station has warned others not to put themselves through the scanners.

The powerful X-rays used in the machines are harmful to health.

The highlight of the footage is a sequence of orange-tinted X-ray images of the woman on all fours as she passes through the scanner, with her skeleton on view for all the world to see.
