'Black Panther': the fight to serve or save

The family is one of thousands to see Marvel's record-setting movie, "Black Panther", because of the message it has for brothers Xavier and Tysen.

At movie theaters throughout the Tampa Bay area and all across the country, the scene was the same: throngs of zealous fans in sold-out seats anxious to take in one of the year's most anticipated films, Marvel's "Black Panther". He was jumped just trying to see the movie. Joss Whedon has also gone on record in an IGN interview, stating that he'd want to direct said film if offered the job.

Many of them say before the movie they are looking forward to seeing the action. There has always been debate as to whether the comic has any connection to the Black Panther Movement that coincided with the time, though the original writers said they were neither "for nor against" the movement. "It was absolutely just refreshing to see it, you know?" And over the weekend, Twitter saw a wave of posts from users claiming they were white filmgoers who were physically assaulted by black attendees at Black Panther screenings. He had a much more pivotal role this time around (though he never took the focus away from our other heroes), and I was honestly surprised just how much I ended up liking him.

She added: "There are still millions of people who live in communities where they can live their whole lives not having contact or exposure with people who aren't like them, whether that is race or religion or simply lifestyle". The American public is about 40 percent people of color now, and we know that people of color over-index in terms of media consumption.

Since then, Black Panther has become a must-see movie for many movie-goers. Black Panther has already garnered $169 million overseas, with $25.3 million coming from South Korea, according to BBC.

"Black Panther" is in theaters now.

"I do hope that the increased black representation in Hollywood will show people that black people are smart, talented and strong people who are succeeding and will continue to succeed in society", Ojebuoboh wrote.
