Phones on the Android Go program are supposedly optimized by Google for entry-level performance and similar to Android One devices, such phones will get software updates and security patches directly from Google. Here's an overview of all the devices. Truthfully, there isn't much to be excited about the device because the 1X is a low-end phone. In terms of specs, it boasts an octa-core processor and a 13MP f/2.0 front-facing dual-lens camera with a secondary 5MP 120-degree super wide-angle lens and built-in LED.

And then there's the Alcatel 3, which is the only member of 3 series without a dual rear camera setup. The camera can also capture images at 16MP resolution.

In the camera department, the 5's selfie shooter is 12-megapixels, while the front shooter comes in at 13-megapixels. The Alcatel 3X also comes with fingerprint sensor and face unlock. Besides the 1 GB of RAM, the phone features a quad-core MT6739 processor clocked at 1.28 GHz, 16 GB of onboard storage and a 5.3-inch 18:9 "VGA+" display. Under the hood, MediaTek MT6739 quad-core SoC paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It will be running on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. And for some reason, only the 3 and 3V are running Android Oreo - the 3X is on Nougat.

Alcatel 3X features a 5.7-inch 18:9 display with HD+ resolution. It has RAM, but you can only opt for 1 or 2GB. Up front, there's a 5-megapixel sensor. Even with the bigger display, the Alcatel 3X comes with the same 3,000mAh battery with 5V/1A charging input.

Last but not least in the 3-series is the Alcatel 3V, which is priced just a bit higher than the 3X at 190 euros (about RM915) and it's the largest of the lot with a 6-inch 2K 2160×1080 display, along with a 12MP/2MP dual-camera system that's capable of delivering a real-time bokeh effect. It includes a 5MP front and back cameras, 16GB expandable storage, 1GB RAM, quad-core MediaTek MT8321 processor and 4000mAh battery.

The model with 2 GB of RAM features Face Key, a camera-based facial recognition feature. The Alcatel 3V will be available in Spectrum Black, Spectrum Blue, and Spectrum Gold color options.

We already told you the first wave of Android Go phones would arrive at MWC 2018, and now we're getting an initial look at the very first device that's a part of it.

It'll be the first sub-$100AUD device from a major global brand to come with an 18:9 screen. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded. It also includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.

For those interested, the phone will be available this April. Oh, and you can also call it the Alcatel 1X if you please. The 1T 7 is a 7-inch tablet with 1,024 x 600p IPS display while the 1T 10 features a 10-inch 1,280 x 800p IPS display. Other features include a 3,000mAh battery, fingerprint reader, and Android Oreo. The Alcatel 5 will cost under AUD$300 locally and ought to be available some time after the middle of this year.
