Tiwari, students meet Rajnath for CBI probe

The protests have been taking place at the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) office at CGO complex in Lodhi Road since February 27, 2018.

The CGL exam was held from February 17 to 21.

The Union minister has also said that the protest should stop.

Khurana's statement came after a delegation of candidates, who were protesting against the alleged paper leaks, met him along with BJP Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari, according to PTI. Quickly, the protests have taken a political color, as Congress slammed the BJP goverment, and called the leaks as another Vyapam scam, asking for a complete CBI probe in the case and catch the people who are responsible.

After screenshots of question paper along with answers went viral on social media even before the exam was over, the SSC cancelled the exam held in morning shift on February 21.

The government had assured the students to take necessary steps so that their prospects are not compromised.

The SSC then re-scheduled March 9 to re-conduct this exam.

On 1 March 2018, Minister of State, Ministry of Personnel, Pension and Public Grievances Jitendra Singh met a delegation of candidates and agreed that the evidence provided should be taken on record and 'if found substantiated, the matter will be referred to CBI for further enquiry.

Social activist Anna Hazare reportedly met hundreds of SSC aspirants in the capital and urged them to walk on the path of non-violence.

Describing the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) job scam as similar to Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress on Saturday demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also reacted to the protests and demanded a CBI probe in the matter. They were demanding the CBI to investigate the matter. ABVP, on the other hand wants probe into nexus of particular coaching centres and the former Chairman of SSC.
