France reached the 2016 European Championship final thanks in part to Pogba, but lost 3-2 to Colombia in their most recent worldwide friendly.

Playing in front of their home crowd, Russian Federation conceded in the 40th minute as Paul Pogba played a through ball into Mbappe, who took his time to beat a defender and then scored.

Fedor Smolov pulled one back from close range before Mbappe added a late third through keeper Andrey Lunyov's legs. Fyodor Smolov had reduced the mark for the Russians in the 68 minute.

Pogba doubled the advantage four minutes after the interval with a magnificent free-kick which curled into the bottom corner past the diving Lunev.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has made a decision on the future of midfielder Paul Pogba, according to a report.

It took France 40 minutes to find the breakthrough, but Pogba's inch-perfect pass for Mbappe sent the PSG teenager racing through on goal, and he duly provided a relaxed finish.

"All of them did their utmost today but none of them managed to avoid making mistakes", Cherchesov admitted.

Mourinho believes Pogba has the "technical and physical" qualities to be a top player, and that he's been playing poorly due to a lack of focus on his game.

"After the match with Argentina we were criticised for a lack of attacking. We did not do everything well, but this is a time when players have a lot of matches and goals to achieve [for their clubs]".

France has remaining friendlies against the Republic of Ireland, Italy and the United States before opening World Cup play against Australia on June 16.
