Man arrested after fight

The suspect, who was driving a silver SUV, fled from the scene, but the victim started pursuing him in his vehicle, police said.

A Texas police officer has been shot in an exchange of gunfire that led to a standoff at a home. There were children in the home at the time, police said.

The vehicle was owned by the man's girlfriend. Police say the West Church Street resident woke up to find Michael Tomshack of South Maple Street sitting on her bed and yelling at her.

A Cordova man was arrested Saturday night following a lengthy standoff with law enforcement at his residence.

"Obviously, he felt threatened", Scott said.

An officer met with a woman in the police department lobby shortly after 11 a.m. March 21 in reference to her dog being bitten by a neighbor's dogs. The officer will be placed on administrative duty, which is standard protocol for officer-involved shootings. One opened the passenger-side door while the other remained on the driver's side, officers said.

Aminu Sulley is still being detained to assist in investigating the matter; but the victim, the police officer claimed, was still on admission receiving treatment.

James Edward Grundon, 43, who lists a Central Avenue address, was taken into custody shortly before 8:30 a.m. Monday and charged with theft by receiving over $1,000, a felony punishable by up to six years in prison.

Additional trooper units "responded to assist the injured Trooper and apprehend Yakunin", but, upon their arrival, Yakunin continued to be assaultive, the trooper dispatch reported.

In the meantime, officers swarmed Battleground, collecting evidence and talking to witnesses. In the police station parking lot the wife reportedly threw a bottle at the girlfriend's vehicle.

Steve apparently made a move toward Calvin before grasping his left chest and staggering off into a parking lot as his shirt becomes soaked with blood.

Police said the driver stopped briefly before speeding away.

A heavily redacted 911 call, released Tuesday morning, detailed how frantic people were to get the girl help. "Next thing I know, he was antagonizing the cops". "Pop, pop, he went down and it looked like he got shot in the shoulder, but from the shot, he banged his head". Police did not immediately have any additional information.
