The victim has been identified as Manzoor Ahmed Bhat, a shepherd. "Exhibiting its brand of brutality, the terrorists have left the body headless", tweeted Kashmir Zone Police. "The body of Manzoor Ahmed Bhat, who was abducted by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists on the intervening night of April 4 and 5, was found on the outskirts of Hajin early today (Friday)", the spokesperson added. Abdul Gaffar successfully escaped the abduction despite being fired upon his belly.

The three injured family members, Rafeeqa, Neelofar and Hilal Ahmad Parrey, are still undergoing treatment at a hospital in Srinagar.

A complete shutdown is being observed on the fifth consecutive day Saturday at Kangan area of central Kashmir's Ganderbal district against the killing of a youth in police action.
