Crown Prince: Saudis May Take Part in US Attack on Syria

The kingdom is the lead partner in a coalition of countries bombing and blockading Yemen, where a combination of fighting, disease and food shortages has led it to be dubbed the world's worst humanitarian crisis by the UN.

The prince´s trip to France following a weeks-long tour of the United States, Britain and Egypt where he courted a host of business titans and several multimillion dollar deals. Highly anticipated Franco-Saudi cooperation deal for the development of Saudi city Al Ula, gifted with archaeological fragments, is also expected to be the main highlight of the visit.

The agreement calls for the creation of a dedicated agency modelled on the lines of the French museums agency, which spearheaded the setting up of the Louvre museum in Abu Dhabi.

French lawyer Joseph Breham filed the complaint on behalf of the association on Monday, during the prince's visit to Paris, France Culture broadcaster reported, citing the text of the complaint. Moreover, a visit to the Paris-based tech startup campus Station F and a concert in southern Aix-en-Provence, is also on the visit list.

Saudi Ambassador to Spain Prince Mansour said that the choice of Spain by the Crown Prince to include in his current visit to the major world powers showed the depth and strength of the bilateral relations that bind the two great nations.

The prince has used his global tour to project his reforms - including the historic lifting of a ban on women driving, cinemas and mixed-gender concerts - as part of his pledge to return the kingdom to moderate Islam.

France's president has said he agrees with Saudi Arabia on the need to curb Iranian "expansionism" in the Middle East.

After a tense first exchange between the two leaders in Riyadh last November that was dominated by a difference of opinion on how to handle Riyadh's regional rival Iran, Macron and Prince Mohammed sought to get to know each other and work on what they have in common rather than their differences.

"I can not think of a better partner for culture and art than France", Saudi Culture Minister Awwad Alawwad told AFP.
