Restaurant offers burger with tarantula topping

One of the burgers being served is "the tarantula burger", which features pasture raised beef, gruyere cheese, spicy chili sauce and an oven roasted tarantula.

A restaurant in Durham, North Carolina has made the month of April meaningful by enticing foodies to try unusual, meaty creations.

The tarantula burger can not be ordered, rather, interested eaters come to the brewpub and sign up for a raffle.

Other menu items include alligator tubesteak, guacamole topped with seasoned, edible bugs, rabbit meatball sub, reindeer meatballs and homemade python curry over white rice.

Should they finish the burger and their side of fries they win a limited edition T-shirt and have their picture taken for "social media fame and glory". Bull City says the tarantula is lightly-salted before being baked.

Well, the Tarantula Challenge (that's what they're calling it) is by lottery only.

Adventurous eaters can't just walk in and order a tarantula burger, though.

Bull City points out numerous Exotic Meat Month menu items are eaten by people of other cultures on a daily basis.

It's Exotic Meat Month and a North Carolina brewery is taking the opportunity to introduce customers to all types of meats.
