Hannity was revealed as one of Cohen's clients in court on Monday as part of a federal investigation into Cohen's business and financial dealings. A little dramatic. Her bodyguards must cost a pretty penny, because they're quite effective.

The social media statements about Hannity touched the far corners of reality, with "DeityFree" commenting, "Obviously, the lack of oxygen from living in that fake news buble is going to your head". Cohen reportedly did "traditional legal tasks" for three clients ― Trump, former Republican National Committee official Elliott Brody and a third person who asked to remain anonymous.

But even after Cohen's office and home were raided by the FBI, Hannity, who already had a professional relationship with the attorney, never disclosed that fact while reporting on the raid.

I mean, he does seem like a sweet guy.

"He has played by a different set of rules, or should we say no rules at all", she said of Cohen.

"I understand if he doesn't want his name out there, but that's not enough under the law", Wood said, before ordering a lawyer for Cohen to disclose the name.

The news had prompted a near-instantaneous meltdown on Twitter as media pundits and commentators speculated about what sinister deal Cohen might have negotiated on Hannity's behalf.

The names of Cohen's clients are at issue because the lawyer has argued that materials seized in an Federal Bureau of Investigation raid on his home and office are subject to attorney-client privilege.

Cohen's lawyers said investigators "took everything" during raids last week on his residence and office. "I have sought legal advice for Michael".

"I have occasionally had brief discussions with him about legal questions about which I wanted his input and perspective", Hannity tweeted, adding that those conversations "dealt nearly exclusively about real estate".

"If I had remembered at the time that Michael D. Cohen was my lawyer, and that some of the documents that were seized most likely involve me, I would of course have mentioned those things on the air", he said. "On going troubles for the man who paid off Stormy Daniels, New York Attorney and sad neck with hair, Michael Cohen", Colbert said.

The lawyers did not say what work Cohen has performed for Hannity.

Stephen Ryan, an attorney for Cohen, said Trump Organization materials had been seized in the raid.

Cohen has arranged at least two hush-money payments to women who claimed they had sexual affairs with Trump.

In court Monday, Cohen's lawyers argued over the status of records taken by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in a raid last week on Cohen's office, home and hotel room.

Former FBI director James Comey called Donald Trump "morally unfit to be president" in an interview with USA TODAY published Monday, the most publicly scathing words from a director of the agency, former or current, in American history.

At first, he said that he might have given the attorney a few bucks, then later, he said that his conversations with Cohen did not revolve around a third party, like what happened to Trump.

Communications between lawyers and the people they represent are typically kept confidential under the doctrine of attorney-client privilege. "All lawyers are deflated and concerned!"

Lawyers for Mr Cohen filed papers saying investigators "took everything" during the raids, including more than a dozen electronic devices.
