Earlier today the casting couch became a talking point after Saroj Khan's controversial comments.

She went on to speak in more detail saying, "Government ke log karte hain to tum film industry ke peeche kyun pade ho?". Someone or the other tries to take advantage of every other girl. How stupid are we, the audiences, then to expect that a few great messages driven films are all that is needed to change Bollywood. At least they provide a livelihood.

Responding to Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan's remark on the casting couch, the Congress leader said that even Parliament is not immune to it. When you are an artiste, why will you sell yourself?

Reddy's allegations about the rampant sexual harassment in the Telugu film industry came days after many Bollywood celebrities shared similar experiences on media platforms.

"Casting couch is taking away privileges from women and using it for your personal benefit or in lieu of any compensation". Our entertainment industry, like all other industries respects women.

To everyone's shock, veteran choreographer Saroj Khan defended the practice of casting couch in the film industry saying, "It's done with consent and at least provides livelihood".

Rather than showing support or solidarity, Saroj Khan's distasteful statements have told thousands of young girls that the casting couch is the only route to dreams coming true.

Within hours, a press meet was called at her Lodhi Estate home and she clarified her remark. If she doesn't want to fall in trap, she wouldn't. One of the replies one gets more often than not is that sexual exploitation is not exclusive to the film industry and can be found in everywhere. I also know women who have stood up against it and said No. "She actually makes a scathing statement about the Govt exploiting women and says she doesn't judge women who choose this path".

Saroj Khan has choreographed for several films including Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India, Devdas, Swades, Veer-Zaara, Fanaa and Jab We Met.
