Prince William and Kate have kept fans waiting three days to find out what they have named the royal baby son - and now he has explained why.

Kate Middleton and Prince William still haven't told us their new baby's name.

But, another name has crept in as a favourite - and that's Alexander.

Fans, as well as Daily Mail, believe this could be a clue that the name is Prince Albert.

Yesterday the Duke of Cambridge hinted the name Alexander was "a good one" and could be in the running for his baby's name, which promoted a flurry of bets on the name.

Although the name had not been officially announced, the Rector of Sandringham made a mention in a prayer for "Peter and Autumn Phillips and their daughter Savannah".

"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news", it read.

During his first public appearance post-baby, William attended an Anzac memorial service in Westminster Abbey alongside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle where he appeared to be dozing off and catching himself falling asleep. "Can't complain about that", she wrote on Twitter (via Express).

Australian High Commissioner Alexander Downer also suggested Alexander to the Duke, to which he replied cryptically: 'Funny you should say that. It's a good name, ' The Sun reports.
