A new generation of iPhone SE showed in the video

Rumours at the time also suggested that iPhone SE 2 would sport a 4-inch display, which is similar to iPhone SE, along with Touch ID and that it could be placed in the same price range as its predecessor. A leaked video today has revealed that the iPhone SE could just get a successor soon - the Apple iPhone SE 2. Part of the filing translates as "smartphone running iOS 11", which is being taken to be a strong suggestion that Apple is readying the iPhone SE 2 for launch.

Spotted on Chinese social media and posted on letemsvetemapplem.eu, the photos show a device that looks pretty much like the iPhone SE you already know. Interestingly, the device appears to have the well-desired headphone jack, contradicting the aforementioned rumor. On the front, the iPhone 8 Product RED Edition bears a 7MP HD camera and comes with both 64GB and 256GB storage models. The feature went missing in iPhones following the launch of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

The new models of the Product Red portfolio were launched internationally starting April 13. This change will affect the phones that come after iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The company will reportedly announce a new 5.8-inch OLED display iPhone, a 6.5-inch OLED display iPhone, and a 6.1-inch iPhone with an LCD screen. Like last year, Apple also doesn't want to delay the next-gen iPhone X. However, a report from January this year indicated that the handset in question may go into production by May or June this year. That's a pretty bold move, since most entry-level phones have kept their headphone jack, but it does line up with the direction Apple has been moving in recently. Daniel Ives, the quotable stock analyst from GBH Insights, wrote that Wall Street was in "full panic mode" about iPhone sales for the quarter that ends in June. However, the mean selling price of the iPhone clearly indicates the performance of the iPhone X during the period.

So now in 2018, the iPhone 9 is nothing but a fleeting memory, and a victim of Apple's desire to turn the iPhone series into something more technologically advanced, and far more expensive than ever before.

The highly speculated video suggests the identical iPhone SE design but with a glass body and new colour variant.
