This year's event will take place at Lincoln Park and will include a almost 2 mile walking course with different "exclusive" activities for trainers.

For the uninitiated, Pokemon GO Fest 2017 was the first instance of Niantic enacting an actual festival built around the game, and the event was supposed to celebrate the one year anniversary of the title's release while marking the launch of Legendary Raids.

The Pokémon Go Fest 2018 is detailed as "A Walk in the Park in Chicago" and that's precisely what players will be doing during this full weekend celebration this July. There isn't much other information on what to expect from this Pokemon Go Fest in particular other than its location and the fact that there will be some sort of "activities", though.

Niantic ended up apologizing and offering refunds on tickets and $100 in in-game credits to everyone who attended.

The new festival will be a two-day event at Chicago's Lincoln Park. As of the time of this writing, it's unknown what special offers or Pokemon will be made available to attendees, however, Niantic did say that the event will "offer a unique, immersive play experience unseen anywhere else".

Tickets to this year's festival will go on sale May 11 at 9 a.m. PT on the Pokémon Go Fest website. Pokemon Go officially announced a new Safari ZOne event in Dortmund, Germany. There will be additional activities spread throughout the entire city district of Dortmund, though like Pokemon Go Fest this year, we don't know what kinds of things there'll be for trainers to do. The Pokemon Go Safari Zone event will take place in Dortmund, Germany. Unlike the Chicago event, Dortmund's will be free.
